About the Founder
Sonya Nasim is an expatriate financial expert and founder of Your Nest Egg, a platform dedicated to helping families thrive financially while living abroad. With over a decade of experience in wealth management—including time as a Vice President at Merrill Lynch—Sonya holds FINRA Series 7 & 66 licenses and a Master’s degree in Technology Management from Columbia University, where she also served as an Associate Lecturer.
Her approach blends technical expertise with lived experience as a mother and global citizen. Now based in the UAE, Sonya supports expat families navigating cross-border financial decisions, retirement planning, and family budgeting. She believes financial literacy should be empowering, accessible, and tailored to the realities of raising a family in a country that’s not your own.
Your Nest Egg was born from her Columbia graduate thesis and her passion for making personal finance less intimidating and more human.
